FINALISTS ANNOUNCED: PROVIDE MAKES TOP 10 FOR HEALTHIEST WORKPLACE IN UK

National Business Awards - FinalistMilton Keynes IT recruitment firm Provide flew the flag for the industry when they were short listed for the finals of the National Business Awards for their commitment to health and wellbeing in the workplace. Dubbed as the ‘Business Oscars, by Gordon Brown, the National Business Awards are the largest and most prestigious in the UK. 

Dan Brazier, Managing Director of Provide and recent finalist at the Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, commented: “Our goal has been to become the top employer in Milton Keynes so we are delighted to have made it to the finals of these awards. We are proud to have been recognised for the various initiatives we’ve introduced over the past year including freshly delivered organic fruit and juices for each employee, a company fitness trainer and trips abroad for staff.”

Provide have doubled their staff numbers in the past year and are forecast to double those figures and treble their turnover over the next three years. David Freeman, Operations Director for Provide explained how important their people are to the continued success of the company “We have a great team and want them to enjoy coming to work. Since we have introduced exercise, nutrition and fun into the workplace, absence figures from sick leave have dropped to 0.8 days per year, per employee which greatly outperforms the national average of 8.4 days per year (source: CIPD 2007) and staff turnover is 0.4% compared to the national average of 18.1%. Recently our staff were surveyed by an outside consultancy, which found that over half of our employees felt they had become healthier since working at Provide and 100% of them said they enjoy coming to work everyday.”

The winners will be announced at the Black Tie Awards Ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 18th November 2008, which will be shown on Sky TV and featured in over 500 publications nationwide.
